Hey, I'm actually after some advice for travelling in vietnam but can't see your email address as I use gmail and your link prompts to use a mail client. I have a week in Vietnam in September with a few days in Hanoi and Saigon but am also looking for a coastal experience primarily for good fresh seafood, like squid. Something non-touristy, very chilled, can be basic, but hopefully pretty. Many people say Phu Quoc but I'm worried about it being touristy and perhaps hard to get to in the short amount of time. Do you have any other suggestions or do you think you can get that food in the bigger cities anyway? Thank you so much in advance.
I haven't been to Phu Quoc so I can't tell you anything much about it. My fav place is Mui Ne, a coastal resort town about 5.5 hrs bus ride from HCMC.
