Tet - Chinatown
Tons of Tet decorations for sale in Cholon (Chinatown) in HCMC. Nowhere else will you be able to find the range and quantity of Tet decorations save for here. Small-time retailers buy from these shops for resale in other districts.
I have been living in HCM city for four years but I don't know foreigners call Cholon is Chinatown!^^ Actually, Cholon is an area of lots of Chinese shops and restaurants. Therefor, we can find lots of Tet decorations in this area besides Chinese traditions.
Hi Nam. Chúc mừng năm mới! Many names are given by foreigners to locations in HCMC, so it probably sounds strange to you. As you've said, there are lots of Chinese stuff in Cholon - so we foreigners call it Chinatown. Actually, the "Chinatown" that most tourists visit are Cho An Dong and Cho Binh Tay, and some of the temples around these markets.
