Final update before opening day on 8 Dec 08. The name and address are up in front, making it look more like a school. Drilled so many holes in the wall to put up the holds for the rockwall - the walls are just a brick thick, we drilled thru the wall!!! and the owner is making noise about that. Will have to patch up for him.
The teachers are decorating their classes so that parents have something to see when they come for enquiries. The Promethean Activboard is up, the comp lab tables are done and the class chairs and tables are in. Looks like we're 80% ready for business.

Wow...you are all so fast. Thot no one will be looking at this blog. To answer "i"'s question - yes, a small school indeed. I have 1 Principal, 1 Office Manager, 2 janitors, 2 security guards, 8 full-time VN teachers and 1 part-time expat teacher.
Thx, Azizah. The curriculum is a mix of VN and EL - adapted from the British curriculum. We teach the same units in VN and EL, hoping that this will accelerate the speed of learning English for the kids.

Are your students Vietnamese or other ethic background?
The 2 securities guards sounds like ur in a hostile environment lol.

Ha! Culture here is to have security guards look after your belongings. Bikes have been stolen. Just yesterday, my shoes were stolen under mine and the security guards' noses!!!! My shoes stolen in my own school - so pathetic - and he left me a pair of 10-yr old slippers!!! But no terrorist attacks here - this is a communist country and Islamic extremists have no quarrels with them. So we're very safe here. But kidnapping kids is something we also have to be on the look-out. It happens here.

I'm curious about how you teach the same Units in both V and E. To my understanding,there are still conflicts about bilingual education (happens here in my organization as well)
To me, it makes more sense if some certain subjects are taught in E and some certain subjects are taught in V ( the same program as the Chinese kindergarten in Singapore where I visited in April and our beloved damn Integrated UW school provides:-).
In Hanoi, some Kindies that adapt similar aproach like yours provide lessons in V and a part time expat comes in for an hr/day to teach E seperately...
